Why are the Westminster parties denying the referendum mandate? 

The Westminster parties are running scared of an independence referendum because they fear they will lose it.

That is why they have abandoned their decades long position that they would support a referendum if the people of Scotland voted for it. Now they support Westminster having the sole power to decide.

Why are the Westminster parties afraid of another independence referendum and attacking those who make the case for it?

Those parties don’t want people in Scotland to hear how Westminster threatens our NHS despite their promises in 2014 that it was safe with a ‘No’ vote.

They don’t want to explain why Westminster blocked a law that would have stopped Scotland’s NHS being opened up to US-style health corporations in trade deals.

They don’t want people in Scotland to hear how Westminster is cutting civil service jobs in Scotland despite saying they would be safe with a ‘No’ vote.

And they don’t want the majority in Scotland who voted to Remain in 2016 to be reminded that Westminster parties promised Scotland would be an equal partner in a UK in the EU.
